Calculating the Charge

The Charge for a title insurance policy is based upon the applicable rate and the amount of insurance provided in the policy.  (See the Schedule of Rates)

The Rate Manual includes several discounts that determine the applicable rate to be applied in calculating the Charge, depending upon when title insurance was last issued covering title to the property.  (See Sections 5.3, 5.4, 5.6 and 5.9 of the Rate Manual for further information on the applicability and calculation of these discounts).

If the owner or lender requires additional coverage available through endorsements approved for use in Pennsylvania, there may be additional Charges associated with those endorsements.

The Manual provides for additional Charges under certain circumstances, as described more fully at the Tab entitled “Other Possible Charges.”
