The Title Insurance Rating Bureau of Pennsylvania [TIRBOP] is a nonprofit corporation licensed by the Pennsylvania Insurance Department to act as a rating organization for title insurance companies. The statutory authority for the establishment of a rating organization [often called a "rating bureau"] is found in The Insurance Company Law of 1921, 40 P.S. §910-41. TIRBOP has been in existence since the mid 1990's.
